Fennimore Rescue Squad Fennimore Rescue Squad provides high quality pre-hospital medical care and transport to the residents and visitors of the Fennimore area.

Who We Are

Our Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) are your friends and neighbors who have been professionally trained to help in a medical emergency. They volunteer their time at a moment’s notice, day or night, with no expectation of compensation. Many of our members are also local firefighters, nurses, and law enforcement officers. EMT’s regularly practice and attend refresher training to maintain their skills. The Fennimore Rescue Squad provides care in the city and township of Fennimore and the surrounding townships and communities. We are licensed by the State of Wisconsin and fully insured. What We Do

When you dial 911 for a medical emergency EMT’s are notified immediately via pagers. They will respond in an ambulance and sometimes also their personal vehicles. EMT’s typically arrive onscene within 5 minutes of you calling for help. They provide basic life support and patient stabilization in the critical early minutes of a medical emergency. During transport to the hospital they will continue to provide care and monitor the patient and update the
hospital on their condition. EMT’s regularly work with local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, rescue squads, and other public safety agencies at trainings and emergency scenes. The Fennimore Rescue Squad responds to approximately 275-300 calls and stand-bys each year including fires, motor vehicle accidents, rescue situations, inter-facility transfers, sporting events and medical emergencies with a dedicated volunteer staff of 10-20 licensed Emergency Medical Technicians. Our priority is to provide the highest level of pre-hospital medical care to the residents and visitors of the Fennimore area. To accomplish this we strive to have a strong relationship with the community. If you would like to help, check out how to join below, and of course your tax deductible donation is always appreciated. How To Join

🚒 GRANT COUNTY REHAB TEAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🚒

HELP SUPPORT THE FIREFIGHTERS WHO PROTECT GRANT COUNTY

When firefighters battle a major structure fire, grass fire, or long-duration emergency, the work is physically exhausting. Heavy gear, intense heat, smoke exposure, dehydration, and fatigue can quickly take a toll — and that’s where the Firefighter Rehab Team comes in.

Grant County Emergency Management is currently seeking community volunteers interested in helping with Firefighter Rehabilitation (REHAB) as part of the Grant County Emergency Management Volunteer Auxilliary.

The Rehab Team responds to major incidents throughout Grant County to help firefighters and emergency responders safely rest, recover, rehydrate, and return to duty. These volunteers play a critical behind-the-scenes role that directly supports firefighter safety and operational effectiveness.

🔥 WHAT DOES THE REHAB TEAM DO?

Volunteers may assist with:
• Setting up rehab shelters, tents, tables, heaters, fans, and chairs
• Providing cold water, sports drinks, snacks, and meals during long incidents
• Helping firefighters cool down or warm up depending on weather conditions
• Supporting our firefighter carcinogen-reduction program by distributing towels and washcloths so firefighters can clean soot and contaminants from their skin
• Assisting EMS crews with non-medical support tasks
• Tracking firefighter rotation and accountability
• Refilling SCBA air bottles (for those comfortable and trained to do so)

🚨 WHO SHOULD JOIN?

This opportunity is ideal for people who:
• Want to support firefighters and first responders
• Enjoy helping during emergencies and community events
• Prefer a support/logistics role rather than direct emergency response
• Are dependable, and willing to learn
• Want to be part of a structured emergency management team serving Grant County

No firefighting experience is required. Training and equipment will be provided.

The Rehab Team is only one part of the broader Grant County Emergency Management Volunteer Auxiliary. Additional opportunities will also exist in areas such as:
• Disaster damage assessment
• Shelter and survivor support
• Emergency Operations Center support
• Logistics and supply operations
• Drone operations
• Communications support
• Vehicle and equipment maintenance
