🚒 COMMUNITY IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT! ❤️
We had a great time coming out and joining East Fernwood Missionary Baptist Church for their Church Fun Day 2026!
Getting to spend time with the kids, show them around the fire truck, and just enjoy the day with members of our community is one of the best parts of what we do.
Being a volunteer fire department is about a whole lot more than responding when the tones drop. It’s about showing up, building relationships, supporting our neighbors, and being part of the community we serve.
Thank you to East Fernwood Missionary Baptist Church for inviting us out and letting us be part of such a fun day! We loved seeing all those smiling faces. ❤️🚒
Fernwood VFD is proud to serve this community, both in emergencies and everywhere in between. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒🔥

Pike County will be under a Burn Ban starting tomorrow up until August 31, 2026.

If you violate the Burn Ban you will be issued a citation. No burning whatsoever.

The Fernwood Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Pike County National Bank for awarding us a generous grant.
With these funds, we have been able to purchase new, reliable chainsaws to replace our aging equipment—some of which has been in service since Hurricane Katrina.
We deeply appreciate Pike County National Bank for establishing this program. Their commitment to supporting us and other local fire departments keeps our first responders equipped and strengthens the safety of our entire community.
Thank you, Pike County National Bank, for investing in our department and looking out for our neighbors!

This past week we been busy. I’m sure everyone has saw on Airport-Fernwood road they have been digging and hauling dirt. One of our members went and talk to the supervisor to ask if we could get few loads of dirt to fill in several low spots we had. Well he replied I’ll give you as much as you want. I want to give a shoutout to Cullum Constructions out of Meridian, Ms they did that plus some. They brought in so much dirt we lost count. We rented a skid steer from our local rental company Quality Rentals on Presley Blvd this company that donated all this dirt we a Fernwood VFD are very thankful this has tripled our foot print of the property that we can now use. Before was nothing but marsh wetland. See pictures to see before and after.

Annual dues notices will be mailed out this week. If you receive more than one notice, it is because you own multiple properties within our fire district.

Your annual dues and donations play a vital role in helping us maintain equipment, respond to emergencies, and continue serving our community. We sincerely appreciate your continued support. Thank you for helping keep our department strong.

📢 Event Update from Fernwood Volunteer Fire Department
We’ve made the decision to cancel our April 4th Movie Night due to low participation.
We’re here to bring the community together, and we want to make sure when we host events, they’re worth your time and ours. Right now just wasn’t the right timing.
☀️ Good news: We WILL be bringing Movie Night back this summer when school is out — and we plan to make it bigger and better.
We appreciate everyone who showed interest and support, and we look forward to seeing y’all soon.
