5:00 AM wake up call. Filer Fire along with Twin Falls and Buhl Fire responded to a large commercial structure fire located on 2500 E 3894 N. Our crew of four was first on scene to find the North 1/3 of the structure fully involved and the additional 2/3rds of the structure filled with high temps and heavy smoke. They were able to attack the fire quickly but it was clear we were going to need additional resources. With the help of both agencies we were able to control the fire within an hour and a half, overall time on scene of 4 1/2 hours. No firefighter or civilian injuries occurred.

Special thanks to our dispatchers from SIRCOMM and TWIN COM. TF County Sheriffs, Filer Highway district.

Filer is still a paid call fire department and we depend on our members who respond from home to respond to these calls. They are dedicated and hard working. Thanks for showing up this morning.

Filer Fire prevention week activities. Our fire safety house spent the last two days at Filer Elementary. Miss Kayci our Fire Prevention Educator does a tremendous job teaching and caring for are little ones. Such a great asset to our department. We will continue through the month and into November educating our students and students outside of our district. FP education matters. As the weather changes be aware and be safe!!

We hope you enjoyed your 4th of July celebrating our nations 250 Birthday. What a great country we live in. We are truly blessed. Our members were excited to get to participate in the Filer City festivities including allowing us to set the fireworks off for the first time. We had a few glitches but overall we hope you enjoyed the show. We would also like to congratulate Chief Bud Compher for receiving the Home Town Hero Award from the city. For almost 50 years Bud and Donna provided exemplary service to both city and the fire district. Such an honorable man. Chief Compher has since retired but will always be a valued member of Filer Rural Fire.

READY SET GO!
A new government program that addresses being prepared in case wild fires.

With the dry season upon us it is important to keep yourself updated on current fire conditions. Prepare your home and property to reduce fire risk. Create an evacuation plan in case it becomes necessary to evacuate. Be able to leave at a moments notice if required.

Filer Rural Fire will be shooting the 4th July fireworks off from our back parking area. The best viewing areas will be from the normal grass parking lots in the fair park. If you plan on watching the fireworks from a distance (outside the fair park) you will miss the best part of the display. This shoot was professionally designed for Filer! We are excited to be a part of the celebration!

Drill Night! Last night of extraction training. Vehicle stabilization, patient care, right tool right job and experimented. Always learning something new when we train. Even had a little competition between the speed of battery operated cutters and a sawzall. And of course we had to all load up in the van for the family picture. Always fun with this group.
