Looking to buy a home? We've had several community members ask about homebuyer education opportunities. While our office doesn't offer these classes, OSU Extension has a dedicated team that does. Learn more below, and if you'd like additional information, we'd be happy to connect you with the Homebuyer Education team.

Did you know that Extension has an entire team dedicated to homebuyer education?

It's true. In 2025, the team worked with nearly 2,000 families to equip them with resources and information they needed to reach their goal of homeownership.

Because of their work, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency recently named the team as a top partner. Kudos on this recognition!

Reach out to your local Extension office to inquire about homebuyer education workshops near you.

Congratulations Aubrey Hassan, 2026 Danforth “I Dare You” Award Winner!

“William H. Danforth’s timeless dare is to be one’s best, to live a balanced life and to serve others. William H. Danforth (1870–1956), founder of the Ralston Purina Company and one of the founders of the American youth Foundation, lived his life by our fourfold philosophy – believing in a balance between mental, physical, and spiritual capacities. We present the original version of the text, written in 1931. Though some of the language and examples are specific to the social and cultural landscape of the time, the essential challenge- the dare to be one’s best, to live a balanced life, and to serve others – is timeless”.

4-H members who demonstrate personal integrity, lead well rounded lives and possess a willingness to assume responsibility should be considered for this award. The award recognizes youth who strive to be their personal best and make a positive difference in their schools, youth groups, 4-H clubs, and communities.
