Westside, look what you did!
For the first time since early voting opened, more Democrats across the Westside have voted than had at this same point in the last midterm. 3,748 of us, against 3,660 in 2022. We have been chasing that number since day one, and this week we finally caught it.
In all of 2022, start to finish, 4,666 Democrats across the Westside voted early or by mail. We are already at 80% of that, and we still have until Sunday, Nov 1.
Thirteen days to go. Three ways to help, and you probably only need one.
If there is a mail ballot sitting on your kitchen counter, today is the day. Ohio changed the rules, so it has to arrive by 7:30pm on Nov 3. A postmark is not enough anymore. Fill it out, sign the envelope, and either mail it this week or hand it to them at 4700 Smith Rd in Norwood. We have 792 of these still out there.
If you have not voted yet, come on out. Same place, 4700 Smith Rd in Norwood. They are open this Saturday the 24th from 8 to 4, and starting Monday the 26th the hours get long, 7:30am to 7:30pm.
And if you have already voted, thank you! Now bring somebody with you. A neighbor, your kid who just registered, the friend who always means to go and then it is suddenly November. One ride or one phone call from each of us is the whole ballgame.
We know the Westside gets written off. We also know what it looks like when we decide not to be. See you out there.
