Reminder to join us on Saturday, October 24th, from 10AM-2PM for our Drug Take Back Day.

Community members are invited to drop by to safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted, unneeded, and expired household medications—including both prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

Items that can not be accepted include:

❌ Needles & Sharps
❌ Mercury (thermometers)
❌ Oxygen containers
❌ Chemotherapy/Radioactive substances
❌ Pressurized canisters
❌ Illicit drugs

Join the Firestone Police Department and The Blue Heart Initiative for a free community event designed to bring families and first responders together in a calm, welcoming, low-sensory environment.

Enjoy a morning of connection, conversation and FUN, including:
🚔 Meet-and-greets with local police officers
🚒 First responders from the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District
🚨 Emergency vehicles to explore up close
🎨 Stickers, temporary tattoos, sidewalk chalk, snacks, and more!

This event is designed for individuals and families who benefit from a quieter, more comfortable way to connect with first responders.

Join us for Halloween Safe Night on Friday, October 23, from 5–8 p.m. at the Firestone Regional Sports Complex!

🍬 And we’re looking for businesses, nonprofits, organizations, and community groups to join the Trunk-or-Treat fun! Decorate your trunk, bring at least $250 worth of candy, and get ready to welcome hundreds of costumed kiddos and their families. 🎃🍭

And there’s a little friendly competition… 👀

🏆 Attendees will vote for their favorite trunk!

The winner will be crowned Best Decorated Trunk and receive a special sponsorship for next year’s Halloween Safe Night!

🎅 Carbon Valley Santa Cops – Now Accepting Referrals! 🎁

The holiday season is right around the corner, and the Carbon Valley Santa Cops program is now accepting referrals for families in need. If your family could use a little extra help this year, or you know someone who could, please read the informational letter and complete the online application at www.firestoneco.gov/SantaCops.

📍 Forms can also be picked up from the Firestone Police Department.
🕔 Referral deadline: Monday, November 30, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

Please note: Space is limited, and income qualifications apply.
