🚨 ATTENTION: VEHICLE OWNER 🚨

A black Ford Mustang has been parked in the Fittstown Fire Department parking lot for nearly a week.

We are asking for the owner of this vehicle to make arrangements to have it removed immediately.

Our parking lot is not intended for long-term vehicle storage. As an emergency response agency, we need to ensure our property remains accessible and available for department personnel and emergency operations at all times.

If this is your vehicle, please make arrangements to have it moved as soon as possible. If you know who owns it, please pass this message along.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping our department property clear and accessible.

🔥 BURN BAN LIFTED 🔥

The burn ban has officially been lifted!

We know a lot of folks have been waiting to get some burning done, but please remember that just because the burn ban has been lifted doesn’t mean the fire danger is completely gone. Conditions can still change quickly, so please continue to use caution and never leave a fire unattended.

📞 If you plan to burn, please call it in to Central Dispatch at 580-332-4466.

Keep water nearby, pay attention to the wind, and make sure your fire is completely out before leaving the area.

Another Annual Fish Fry & Pie Auction is in the books! 🚒🐟🥧

We served 279 people tonight which is about 125 fewer than we normally serve but let us tell you… the ones who came SHOWED UP and SHOWED OUT! ❤️

One of our favorite parts of the night was seeing SO many new faces this year! We love seeing the familiar faces who continue to support us year after year, but we absolutely loved seeing so many people joining us for the first time, too!

We want to give a HUGE thank you to all of our cooks and volunteers who helped make tonight happen! From cooking and serving to keeping things moving behind the scenes, we truly could not pull this off without you. All of you are a much bigger help to our department than you probably even realize, and we are so thankful for every single person who jumped in and helped make the night run so smoothly! ❤️

We definitely can’t talk about our Pie Auction without giving a shoutout to Clay, our awesome auctioneer! Every year, Clay knows exactly how to bring the crowd to life, get the ball rolling, and keep those bids coming! 😂🥧 We appreciate him coming back year after year and helping make the auction one of the best parts of the night. It just wouldn’t be the same without him!

We also want to thank the crew from AirEvac for coming out and spending the evening with us! They were able to visit with everyone about their membership program, answer questions, and we even had a few people sign up tonight! If you’ve ever considered a membership for your family, give them a call and let them tell you more about it. Hopefully you’ll never need them but there’s definitely some peace of mind in knowing you have that coverage if you ever do. ❤️

Overall, it was just a great night with a great community! We truly cannot thank everyone enough for continuing to show up and support our department year after year.

Owner of groceries confirmed items and claimed them! Thank you to everyone who shared the posts going around! 🩷

A Walmart grocery order was left on the porch of the Post Office earlier and we picked it up.

We’ve tried calling Walmart and posting in a couple of groups but haven’t had any luck so we are trying this page now.

🔥 BURN BAN EXTENDED THROUGH OCTOBER 5TH 🔥

While we are thankful for the rain we’ve received, unfortunately, it simply hasn’t been enough.

Dry conditions remain, and the burn ban has been extended for an additional two weeks, through October 5th.

Please continue to do your part and use extra caution. Avoid outdoor burning and remember that something as simple as a cigarette tossed from a vehicle, a dragging chain, or a spark can quickly start a fire when conditions are this dry.

We appreciate everyone who has taken the burn ban seriously and helped keep our community, homes, livestock, and first responders safe. ❤️🚒

The burn ban for Pontotoc County has been extended for another 14 days and currently set to expire on September 22nd - we will update again on the 22nd.

Please continue to use extra caution while conditions remain extremely dry. Something as simple as a tossed cigarette, dragging chain, or small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous fire.

Let's all do our part to protect our homes, land, livestock, neighbors, and first responders. A little extra caution can make a BIG difference.

Please be responsible, stay alert, and help us prevent unnecessary fires.

🔥 BURN BAN REMINDER - PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE 🔥

With the extremely dry conditions we’re experiencing, it doesn’t take much to start a fire and right now, it can spread very quickly.

Something as simple as a cigarette tossed from a vehicle, a chain dragging and creating sparks, or another small moment of carelessness can turn into a fire that threatens homes, families, livestock, property, and our community.

Please remember that we are currently under a burn ban and to use EXTRA caution in everything you do outdoors. What may seem harmless under normal conditions can have devastating consequences when everything around us is this dry.

We also ask that you keep our firefighters in mind. ❤️🚒 We are already battling extreme temperatures, and when our men and women add heavy gear, equipment, smoke, and the physical demands of fighting a grass or structure fire, it makes this heat even more dangerous and taxing on them.

Please do your part. Be cautious. Be responsible. Don’t take unnecessary chances.

Preventing a fire is a whole lot easier than fighting one.

Stay safe, look out for your neighbors, and help us protect our community. 🚒🔥
