Happy National Friends of Libraries week! Friends of the Hunterdon County Library is a group that promotes and sponsors library services, including our Beyond the Page events, Social Seniors, Monday Matinees, and more! FOHCL also runs an outreach program, bringing library books to homebound individuals. In the spring, FOHCL facilitates our Annual Book Sale, and FOHCL members who volunteer receive early-bird admission. Join us at the Hunterdon County Historic Courthouse 🏛, site of the 1935 Lindbergh trial, for an author talk with Mariah Fredericks about The Lindbergh Nanny. Her novel tells the story of the 1932 Lindbergh kidnapping through the eyes of Betty Gow, the nursemaid who cared for the child and found herself at the center of the most sensational crime in America. On Wednesday, we closed out Hispanic Heritage Month by making sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar)! Thank you to Verónica Olivares-Weber for leading this event-we had a blast!

Games Fest is back and with a Revolutionary twist to keep America's 250th celebration going! Register for special games like Dungeons and Dragons, Nations and Cannons: The Battle of Sleepy Hollow, and NextGen Miniatures: The Battle of Princeton. Our Halloween parades at North County Branch and Headquarters library were a monster-ously big success! We had an array of wonderfully dressed guests, from doctors and farmers to princesses and dinosaurs. First we danced to Tim Hoh’s Halloween rock, before we were led out in a parade through the library. We had so much fun, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
