In January 2011, our dreams came true and we started a small farm in Central NJ. Our goal has always been to focus on livestock conservancy and sustainable living. We are members of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, helping to ensure the future of agriculture through the genetic conservation and promotion of endangered breeds of livestock and poultry.

Goats Lose Their Minds Over Falling Leaves and Pumpkin Mysteries
Watch what happens when the wind blows fresh autumn leaves into the pasture and the goats decide they are better than any treat. We are also checking on the fence line pumpkins, hunting down a stubborn orange cat with Tonka, and trying to solve a ridiculous squash identification mystery once and for all.

When Farm Bucks Lose Focus and Winter Prep Begins
Checking in on the bucks as breeding season shifts and morning frost signals the transition to winter chores. Managing heated water buckets, cooler weather routines, and farm dogs finding wildlife discoveries take center stage on the homestead.

The Farm Has Officially Hit Its Pumpkin Era!
Taking a morning walk through the pasture as the farm enters full pumpkin season. I line every fence post with fresh farm-grown pumpkins while checking in on the goats, dogs, and donkeys. My Miniature Silky Fainting Goats are starting to grow in their winter cashmere coats, keeping me busy with extra grooming and prep for the upcoming season.

Bob the Barn Cat and Too Many Pumpkins
Catching a surprise morning visit from Bob the barn cat during breakfast and managing our massive pumpkin harvest across every fence post on the farm. We also take a quick look at the changing autumn foliage and check in on the goats finishing up their morning meal.

🍂 October's Soap Collection Has Arrived!

Shop now: 👉 https://www.racingforhomefarm.com/shop-all

This month's collection features:

🍎 Warm Apple Pie
🌻 Field & Flame
🌲 Sandalwood
🍁 Autumn Sanctuary (new!)

While the leaves are turning, I'm already looking ahead to spring. Most of the does have been exposed to a buck, and now I wait to see who has settled. If all goes according to plan, March and April will bring another season of baby goats to the farm.

Last month's release was a huge success, and one of the featured soaps sold out completely. There are still a few Halloween and pumpkin-season bars available, but once they're gone, they'll be gone until next year.

And a quick heads-up: November will be my final soap release of the year before I shift my focus to restocking favorites that many of you have been asking about.

Thank you for being here and supporting handmade products from my little corner of New Jersey. 💚

Poor Chuck the Duck Gets Dumped by His Chicken Friends
Morning chores bring some funny farm drama as the young chickens fully integrate into the big flock and completely ignore poor Chuck the duck. Between the roosters running wild and Chuck dealing with a classic high school clique rejection, it is quite a morning parade.

Goats Acting Crazy Today on the Farm
Hanging out with the goat herd on a gorgeous morning when everyone is acting agitated and hormonal. Checking on the breeding cycle status, watching Persephone burst out of the stall, and taking a quiet stroll through the changing autumn foliage while managing fallen leaves along the pasture fence line.

Why Winter Doesn't Mean Less Work on the Farm
Walking the fence line to drop off pumpkins while sharing why farm animals need just as much water when it gets cold as they do during the hottest summer days.

Why Did My Duck Have a Sleepover with the Chickens
The weather in New Jersey just plunged into a chilly October morning, bringing our first real taste of winter. While us humans are bundling up in heavy coats, the farm animals handle the temperature drop like pros. Between their thick coats and winter hardiness, everyone is doing great, even after a surprise sleepover in the chicken coop.
