🏛️🏅 Let the Games Begin! 🏅🏛️

Our 2nd graders wrapped up their Ancient Greek Civilization Unit with their very own Olympics! 🇬🇷 Students represented three famous Greek city-states and competed in four events: discus throw, beanbag toss, long jump, and a running race!

🥇 Athens – Mrs. Webb’s class
🥈 Sparta – Mrs. Trainor’s class
🥉 Thebes – Ms. Smith’s class

Congratulations to Athens on taking home the gold! 🏆 All of our students showed great sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm while bringing history to life. What a fun way to celebrate all they’ve learned! 🏃‍♀️🎉

🚒🔥 Our Foxes are fired up about fire safety! 🦊❤️

Today was Fire Safety Day at Fletcher, and we had a great time learning how to stay safe in an emergency! A HUGE thank you to the Fletcher Fire Department for spending the day with us and teaching our students important, life-saving fire safety tips. We are so grateful for our local heroes!

Fire Safety Tips to Remember:
🛑 Stop, drop, and roll!
🐢 Stay low and crawl under smoke.
🚨 Make sure you have working smoke detectors at home.
📍 Choose a family meeting place in case of an emergency.
🧑‍🚒 Don’t be afraid of firefighters, even when they look scary in all their gear! They’re there to help save you!

Parents, we need your help! Ask your Fox what they learned today! If your family doesn’t already have a fire escape plan and a designated meeting place, now is the perfect time to make one. A little planning can make a BIG difference!

At Fletcher, we’re learning more than just reading, writing, and arithmetic. We’re learning how to keep ourselves and our families safe! ❤️🦊

🔥 Shelters? Built. Fires? Started. Rocks? Climbed. Arrows? Flying. Discs? Tossed! 🏹🪨🔥

Our 4th graders had an amazing day at Outdoor Ed learning how to build shelters, start fires, rock climb, play disc golf, and practice archery skills. So much learning, adventure, and probably a little dirt along the way! 😂

What a great day to be a 4th grader! 🧡💙🦊

🧹✨ Happy National Custodian Day! ✨🧹

Today we’re celebrating the people who keep our school sparkling, our messes under control, and somehow make the impossible disappear!

Our custodial team does SO much behind the scenes to keep Fletcher clean, safe, and ready for our students and staff each day. From mystery spills to muddy footprints and everything in between… they’ve seen it all!

We are so thankful for our custodians and all the hard work they do for our Fletcher family. Thank you for keeping our school clean and our Foxes moving! We appreciate you more than you know! 🦊🧹❤️

✨ Girls Leading Our World (GLOW)! ✨

GLOW is a space where girls grow together, learn to lead, stand up for themselves and one another, and discover how they can make a difference in their school and community. 💙🧡

Over the next 9 weeks, our 5th grade girls will explore Empowerment, Confidence, Inner Beauty, Healthy Friendships, Poise & Grit, Passion, and Enlightenment. ✨

At the end of the experience, each girl will create a dream board filled with the things she wants to work toward, experience, and prioritize throughout her life. 🌟

We can’t wait to watch these girls GLOW, grow, and lead! 💫

🪔✨ Our 2nd graders wrapped up their Ancient Asian Civilizations unit with some hands-on learning and LOTS of creativity!

Students made beautiful Diya candle holders to celebrate Diwali, crafted lanterns inspired by Chinese New Year, and teamed up to create a lucky dragon for our hallway! 🐉🏮

What a fun way to bring their learning to life! 💙🧡

Our 5th graders are diving into the circulatory system and learning about the four main components of blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma.

Today, they brought the lesson to life by making their own blood!
🔴 Cheerios = red blood cells
⚪ Marshmallows = white blood cells
✨ Sprinkles = platelets
🥤 Corn syrup + water = plasma

Did you know plasma makes up about 55% of your blood? It’s the liquid portion that carries blood cells, nutrients, hormones, and waste throughout your body.

Cheers to learning by doing… and to a pretty sweet science experiment! 🩸🦊

Paging our newest team of doctors! 🩺🦴

Our 1st grade Foxes had an organ-izingly awesome time wrapping up their CKLA Human Body unit! 🫀🧠🦴

From examining real bone models and dressing up like doctors to learning how germs spread and sorting healthy foods, our young scientists were busy putting their learning into action during hands-on activity rotations!

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more exciting, a special Mission Hospital nurse stopped by to give our future doctors a peek into the world of patient care and answer all their very important questions. 🩺💙

From tiny caterpillar to big butterfly! 🦋

Mrs. Romero’s 3rd grade got to watch science come to life as they grew and released their very first butterfly!

👉 Swipe to see where this little caterpillar started! 🐛 The photos take you all the way back to its tiny beginnings!

As part of CKLA Unit 2: Animal Classification, students learned all about the butterfly life cycle and discovered that insects are the largest group of invertebrates — animals without a backbone! From observing to learning to letting them fly, these little scientists got to experience the magic of metamorphosis firsthand.

Talk about a WILD way to learn! 🦊🦋
