This school year, we are getting a peek into the classrooms of all of our school-level teachers of the year, including Ms. Pauline Dixon, our District Teacher of the Year! Each month, we will feature several short videos highlighting our educators in our Teacher of the Year Spotlight.

We are kicking off our series with John Roe, the Orchestra teacher at Wilson High School.

“Mr. Roe is the kind of educator whose impact extends far beyond the walls of his classroom,” said Roe’s co-worker Dr. Megerlyn Davis. “His dedication is evident every day as he provides meaningful instruction from bell to bell and continually seeks opportunities for his students to learn and grow. As the orchestra teacher at Wilson High School, he has truly changed the trajectory of the orchestra program, bringing increased visibility, inclusivity, and a renewed sense of pride to the program. Mr. Roe is the epitome of perseverance. His impact is evident not only in the growth of the orchestra program but also in the students and colleagues who are better because of his presence.”

We are proud to celebrate Mr. Roe and the incredible impact he has on his students, colleagues, and the Wilson school community! 🎻
