Arizona Correctional Industries connects quality products and skilled labor to the marketplace while giving incarcerated individuals the tools to build a better future for themselves and the communities they return to. Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) is a self-sustaining division of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR). Inside Arizona’s state correctional facilities, ACI runs modern production and service programs where individuals gain hands-on training, practical experience, and job skills that can support a successful return to the community. From printing and furniture manufacturing to metal fabrication, signage, vehicle wraps, and supplemental labor, ACI provides high-quality products and services to government agencies, nonprofits, and business partners across Arizona. At our core, we exist to reduce recidivism, strengthen Arizona’s workforce, and deliver meaningful value to the communities we serve.

The difference is measurable. The impact reaches far beyond our programs.

Our Annual Report highlights how workforce-focused correctional programs can make a lasting difference in successful reentry and reducing recidivism.

The results speak for themselves:
47% lower one-year recidivism compared to nonparticipants.
52% fewer new convictions withing the first year compared to nonparticipants.
33% lower three-year recidivism compared to nonparticipants.

These numbers represent more than statistics. They mean stronger communities, more opportunities, and a brighter future for individuals returning to their communities. When people have the chance to build a better future, all of Arizona benefits.

In Arizona, every vehicle needs a valid registration tab, but drivers can pick from more than 100 specialty plate designs to show off their style.

People choose plates to support local charities, represent a university, or honor the military, so every driveway looks a little different. Behind all these choices is one steady force: Arizona Correctional Industries’ Tag Plant.

To keep up with Arizona’s busy roads and all the design options, our team uses modern equipment and works hard to make over 6,000 license plates every day.

Welding is both an art and a high-demand trade. Participants in ACI’s metal fabrication shop spend thousands of hours mastering bead consistency, joint integrity, and blueprint reading so they can step straight into industrial manufacturing jobs when they reenter the workforce.
