Why is husbandry training so important? 🩺

Husbandry behaviors are some of the most important things that our specialists train and maintain. Allowing the animals to voluntarily participate in their own healthcare makes collecting data and samples easier and less stressful for everyone.

In this photo, you can see Sherman, one of our male bottlenose dolphins participating in a voluntary blood draw. Similar to humans, collecting a blood sample on our animals provides data to evaluate their health and it allows us to detect potential illness. Many of our animals receive routine blood draws in order for our veterinary staff to properly track our animal’s health.

After a full day on Florida Bay, there’s nothing like watching the sun go down from the shoreline with your rods resting in the sand. Now your boat gets a recharge while you do.

New boat charging stations are open at Flamingo Lodge boat parking:
-3 stations, 4 outlets each
-$20 per night, plus tax
-First come, first served, no reservations needed

Plug in overnight and be ready when the fish are.
