We successfully completed the final session of the self-defense program through the Hope Against Hate Campaign by the Asian American Federation and the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes.

Led by Andre Maldonado these sessions drew strong participation and actively equip people with practical ways to protect themselves and support those around them. The classes are designed for beginners, where participants learn about 5 D’s of being a bystander, verbal de-escalation strategies, non-violent communication strategies and physical self-defense strategies.

We are so proud of everyone who volunteered to receive the training to protect oneself and the community around them. 💙

Thank you for bringing this important training to SACSS
