HURRICANE ISAIAS RESTORATION ๐Ÿช

Now that we are on the other side of Hurricane Isaias, we are in recovery mode and restoration projects have begun across the City of Foley.

๐Ÿ”Ž CHECK BUSINESS LEGITIMACY
If you're planning on hiring a contractor to assist with the restoration process after the storm, please protect your home and wallet by verifying that any contractor you hire holds a valid business license. Unlicensed operators often target storm victims with high prices and poor-quality work.

๐Ÿชš CONTRACTORS MUST REMOVE THEIR DEBRIS
Please also remember that contractors are legally responsible for removing all tree limbs, materials, and cleanup debris they generate. They cannot leave debris at the curb for City collection.

The Foley Police Department is actively monitoring for ordinance violations. If you suspect an issue with a contracting company, please contact the Foley Police Department at (251)943-4431 and allow our Code Enforcement Unit to look into the matter on your behalf.

As Hurricane Isaias approaches, we strongly advise all residents to stay indoors and avoid traveling.

According to NWS Mobile, severe winds and damage will occur far from the center of the stormโ€”do not let your guard down as we move west of the eye. Weather conditions are worsening, with winds expected to reach over 100 mph this evening. Conditions like these are extremely unsafe for driving.

If you need to travel the roads, please get to your destination immediately and shelter in a safe space.

๐Ÿšฆ Power outages are spreading across Foley. If you must be on the road, drive with extreme caution and remember: a dark traffic light must ALWAYS be treated as a 4-way stop.

๐Ÿ›‘ Avoid travel if you can, but if you must be on the roads, check out our graphic to safely navigate non-functioning traffic lights.

We want people to stay safe before, during, and after this storm travels through Foley. Please stay informed with a trusted weather source and listen to guidelines put in place.
