We've been fortunate that weather conditions shifted, giving us a mostly clear day so far. However, we're not out of the woods just yet!

⛈️ Another round of thunderstorms is expected to move into our area this afternoon, with the potential for strong to severe storms and an increased tornado threat.

⚠️ Residents should remain weather-aware throughout the afternoon and evening. Conditions can change quickly, and tornadoes may develop with little warning.

🌧️ FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING

Charlton County remains under a Flood Watch as additional heavy rainfall and potentially severe thunderstorms are expected today.

⚠️ WHAT TO EXPECT:

- Heavy Rainfall: An additional 1–3 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

- Flooding: Saturated ground increases the risk of flash flooding, especially along low-lying roads, dirt roads, and poor-drainage areas.

- Severe Storms: Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible, particularly this afternoon and evening.

- Gusty Winds: Gusts of 30–35 mph possible outside thunderstorms.

⚠️ STAY WEATHER-AWARE

- Never drive through flooded roadways.

- Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

- Know where to shelter if a Tornado Warning is issued.

- Watch for downed trees, power lines, and hazardous road conditions.

Residents along the St. Marys River, especially those in low-lying and flood-prone areas, should monitor river levels and watch for changing conditions near their properties and access roads.

The attached graphic shows river conditions and forecast levels at Macclenny. Additional rainfall may change the forecast, so check for updates throughout the weekend.
