Biodiversity Week is in full swing! This annual event celebrates the immense variety of life that shares our state with us. It's also a chance for everyone to do a little community science and join our bioblitz! You can visit our parks any time this week, take pictures of the plants, animals or fungi you find, and add them to the project on iNaturalist to share them with the world. The observations you make give scientists real data on who's living alongside us. Let's show off how our wonderful our local slice of nature can be!

Join us this Saturday, September 5th, at the Folsom Powerhouse SHP to celebrate the beginning of Biodiversity Week! Learn more about California’s amazing biodiversity, as well as help preserve local flora and fauna yourself!

During this event, we’ll break into groups to embark on a biodiversity walk (also known as a BioBlitz) to observe the various plant and animal species around our park. We will be utilizing the iNaturalist app to track what we observe and help scientists learn more about the ecology of our park.
