🎄🔔 Lace up, show up, and STAND UP against family violence!

The Elves & Bells 5K is back this year, and we’re inviting our community to join us for more than just a festive run. Every step is an opportunity to stand with survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and sexual assault.

Whether you run, walk, bring the family, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation sends an important message: Family violence has no place in our community, and survivors do not stand alone.

Save the date, grab your festive gear, and join us as we turn holiday spirit into support, awareness, and hope. ❤️

MYTH:
“If it were really that bad, they would just leave.”
FACT:
Leaving an abusive relationship can be complicated and dangerous.

Why don't they just leave?”

It's a question survivors hear far too often.

Leaving an abusive relationship can involve fear, financial dependence, children, housing, isolation, threats, safety concerns, and many other barriers.

Instead of judging someone's decision, we can ask a better question:

“How can I support you?”

Listen. Believe them. Respect their choices. Remind them that support is available.

When people hear the words “domestic violence,” they often think about physical violence.

But abuse can take many forms.

It can be controlling the money. Monitoring a phone. Isolating someone from family and friends. Using threats or intimidation. Controlling where someone goes, what they wear, or who they speak to.

Recognizing abuse is an important step toward ending it.

Everyone deserves a relationship built on safety, respect, and trust. 💜

Happy 5th Birthday to Tia, our beloved facility dog at Family Resources! 🎉🐾

Whether she’s attending meetings, greeting guests at the door, or comforting children and adults who visit our facilities, Tia brings warmth and joy to our days. And with such an important job, she makes sure to fit in a well-earned nap (or three!)💤

Today, we’re celebrating five years of Tia and the smiles, comfort, and love she shares with everyone she meets. These photos capture her busy schedule: meetings, naps, and making our days brighter. ❤️

Help us wish Tia a very happy birthday! 🎂🐶

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

This month, we are raising awareness, sharing resources, supporting survivors, and helping our community better understand domestic violence.

Domestic violence does not always leave a bruise. It can look like control, isolation, threats, manipulation, financial abuse, intimidation, sexual abuse, digital monitoring, and physical violence.

Throughout October, we invite you to learn with us, share these messages, and help remind survivors in our community that they are not alone.

A huge thank you to the Foothills Women’s Society for their generous donation to The PATH Shelter! 💜

As part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) National Day of Service, members collected much-needed items to support survivors and families staying at PATH Shelter. Their generosity is a wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together to serve others.

The GFWC National Day of Service brings clubs and communities across the country together to make a difference through service.

Thank you, Foothills Women’s Society, for choosing to make a difference right here in our community. 💜
