Tomorrow is the day.... 11am-2pm
Looks to be beautiful and sunny. 😎

We still have room for vehicles 🚗🚙 if anyone would like to participate. We would like ALL participating vehicles in place by 10:30am please.

Over the past few years we have had over 200+ kids come through each year.

There will be food trucks 🚚, a fire engine 🚒, music 🎶, free pumpkin 🎃to decorate, games and activities along with the Trunk or Treat.

This is a COMMUNITY event you DO NOT need to be a member to bring your car and participate. 😁

The more the merrier!!!!

🎓 YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES — NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES! 🎓

Do you know a student who enjoys writing, sharing their thoughts, or learning about our nation’s veterans?

The Darlington-Dublin VFW Post 10146 & Auxiliary are encouraging local students to participate in the VFW’s 2026–2027 Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy scholarship competitions!

These programs give students the opportunity to share their perspectives, honor our veterans, and compete for awards and recognition at the local, district, state, and national levels! 🏆

✏️ PATRIOT’S PEN — GRADES 6–8

This patriotic essay competition encourages middle school students to express their thoughts about America and the lessons we can learn from our veterans.

📝 Write an original 300–400 word essay.

🇺🇸 2026–2027 Theme:
“What a Veteran Taught Me About America”

🏆 National First-Place Award: $5,000!

Students advancing through the competition also have opportunities for awards and recognition at the district and state levels!

🎤 VOICE OF DEMOCRACY — GRADES 9–12

High school students have the opportunity to share their patriotic perspectives through an original audio essay.

🎙️ Record a 3–5 minute audio essay.

📄 Include a typed copy of your essay.

🇺🇸 2026–2027 Theme:
“What a Veteran Taught Me About America”

🏆 National First-Place Scholarship: $35,000!

Students can also earn recognition and scholarship awards as they advance through district and state competitions!

We are ACTIVELY COLLECTING ENTRIES, and there’s still time to participate!

📋 IMPORTANT ENTRY INFORMATION

✅ Students must complete the official entry form for their contest.

✅ Essays must follow the official competition rules and eligibility requirements.

✅ Voice of Democracy entries must include the required audio recording and typed essay.

✅ All entries must be submitted by the October 31 deadline.
