Through the Local Economic Development Grant (LED) Senators Smith and Taylor allocated $10,000 to Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Company towards a new concrete apron. Thank you for your support senators!

We are proud to announce the addition of portable ultrasound technology to our EMS division. Both of our ambulances are now equipped with handheld ultrasound devices to enhance prehospital patient assessment and care.

This initiative is currently in the pilot phase within the state, and we are sincerely grateful to the State Medical Director for the opportunity to participate in this progressive program. Being included in this initiative reflects our continued commitment to advancing the level of care we provide to our community.

Point-of-care ultrasound is a valuable tool for our paramedic providers. It allows for rapid bedside assessment in trauma patients to evaluate for internal bleeding and pneumothorax, assists in assessing cardiac activity during cardiac arrest to help confirm return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), and supports airway placement confirmation. The integration of this technology strengthens our ability to deliver timely, informed, and high-quality prehospital care.

We are honored to be part of advancing EMS medicine within our state and to continue elevating the standard of care for our community.

Grant Award Announcement – New SCBA for Fort Ashby VFC 🚨
The Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce that we have been awarded a regional Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in partnership with the Romney Volunteer Fire Company and the Fountain Volunteer Fire Company.
Through this grant, our department has been able to purchase new Scott X3 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for our firefighters. This equipment represents a major upgrade in firefighter safety, reliability, and performance. The Scott X3 SCBA provides enhanced air management, improved comfort, and advanced safety features that help protect our members while operating in hazardous environments.
This grant is a direct investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community we serve. We are grateful for the continued support of the public and for the strong regional cooperation that made this award possible.
Thank you for standing behind your volunteer firefighters. We remain committed to training, preparedness, and providing the highest level of service to Fort Ashby and the surrounding areas.
