Listen, if there’s one thing Firefighters love, it’s parades!!!!!

SAVE THE DATE!
Our 5th Annual Christmas Light Parade will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026 starting at 4:30PM on Main Street in beautiful downtown Fort Fairfield!
The Fort Fairfield Recreation Department will hold a day long craft fair at the Community Center.
Following the parade, join us at the Community Center at 5:30 for Cookies and Cocoa with Santa!
Stay tuned for lineup and parade signup information coming soon! We hope to make this event even bigger than prior years. Spread the word, please share!

*****REMINDER*****
This Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 is the rabies clinic at the Community Center!!! Because this is a drive thru event, the entrance will be on the Elm Street side of the Center and exiting onto Milk Street. Licensing will be done at the Town Office, so park in the normal parking area of the Town Office and use the main entrance!!!

In conjunction with the State of Maine Animal Welfare Program, we are holding a Drive Thru Rabies Clinic on October 18th from 1:00 to 3:00. There will also be microchipping and registration, as well as licensing for your dogs. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. More information of the event will be announced as we get closer to the 18th.

Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue is seeking motivated, career-minded individuals to join our growing combination Fire/EMS department.

Anticipated Opening: November

We are looking for individuals who are committed to serving their community, developing their skills, working as part of a team, and taking pride in being a professional firefighter and EMS provider.

Our department is continuing to grow and evolve, with a strong focus on training, preparedness, teamwork, and providing the highest level of service possible to the community we serve. We are building a department that is prepared for today’s emergencies while continually working to become better prepared for tomorrow.

POSITION
Career Firefighter/EMT
Anticipated Opening: December 3, 2026
Schedule: 48 hours on / 96 hours off (48/96)
Full-time career position
Combination Fire/EMS department
Opportunities for continued professional development and training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must possess:
Current Maine EMT license
Basic Fire Certification
Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses
Valid driver's license
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Commitment to maintaining physical and professional readiness

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to candidates possessing:
Firefighter II certification
Maine Paramedic license
Previous career or combination fire/EMS experience
Additional fire, EMS, technical rescue, or incident command certifications
Strong commitment to continuing education and professional development
