🚔❄️ WINTER WEATHER & ROAD SAFETY NOTICE ❄️🚔

The Fort Kent Police Department reminds residents and motorists to use caution when traveling during snowy and winter weather conditions.

Snow-covered roads, icy patches, reduced visibility, and changing weather conditions can create hazardous driving situations throughout our area.

🚗 Please remember to:

Reduce your speed and increase following distance.

Allow extra time to reach your destination.

Clear all snow and ice from your vehicle’s windows, lights, mirrors, and roof before traveling.

Watch for slippery intersections, hills, bridges, and untreated roadways.

Give snowplows and other road maintenance vehicles plenty of room to operate.

Avoid unnecessary travel when conditions become hazardous.

⚠️ A few extra minutes of caution can help prevent a crash. Please look out for one another and remember that road conditions can change quickly.

The Fort Kent Police Department encourages everyone to stay safe and use good judgment when traveling.

Drive safely, Fort Kent! ❄️🚔

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, the Fort Kent Police Department joins communities across our nation in honoring the 2,977 innocent lives lost on that tragic day.

We remember the police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, military members, and civilians who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember the families who lost loved ones and the countless people whose lives were forever changed.

A visit to the 9/11 Memorial yesterday was a powerful reminder that behind every name is a person, a family, and a story that must never be forgotten. The flags, flowers, and tributes placed at the memorial are a testament to the enduring love, respect, and gratitude that remain 25 years later.

As a police department, we have a deep appreciation for those who answered the call that day and ran toward danger to protect others. Their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations of first responders.

We remember their names.
We honor their sacrifice.
We stand with their families.
And we will never forget.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Forever in our hearts.

🚔 A Birthday Surprise from the Fort Kent Police Department! 🎉

Sometimes the best part of being in law enforcement is getting the opportunity to make a young person’s day a little more special. ❤️

We were contacted by a local family who shared that their son, Karter, has always dreamed of getting a ride in a police cruiser. After an attempt last year didn’t work out, we were happy to help make it happen this year!

Lieutenant Cole Pelletier surprised Karter by arriving at his home in a police cruiser. Karter had no idea what was happening and was certainly surprised to see the cruiser pull into his driveway! 🚔

What started as a simple birthday surprise turned into a memory we hope Karter will never forget. His excitement and reaction made it just as special for us.

Happy Birthday, Karter! 🎂🎈 We hope your special ride was everything you dreamed of!

A big thank you to Karter’s family for allowing us to be part of his special day. We’re proud to serve not only our community, but the families and kids who make it so special. 💙

From all of us at the Fort Kent Police Department — Happy Birthday, Karter! 🚔🎉
