Broward County has reached a historic milestone and is proud to announce our first Sister Cities International partnership with Pingtung County, Taiwan. This partnership aims to create new opportunities for business, trade, innovation, education, and cultural exchange. As one of the most diverse communities in the United States, Broward County recognizes that strong international relationships help drive economic prosperity and build meaningful connections that benefit future generations.
The Sister Cities agreement was signed in Pingtung County, Taiwan by the Honorable Broward County Mayor Mark D. Bogen (District 2) and the Honorable Magistrate Chou Chun Mi, leader of Pingtung County, during a signing ceremony formalizing relationships and exchanges between the counties on June 3, 2026.
"This partnership is about creating meaningful economic, educational, environmental, and cultural opportunities for both regions," said Mayor Bogen. "As the Broward County Commission develops Sister Cities partnerships, we expand the County's economic development potential and other opportunities that can benefit our businesses and residents. I am pleased to begin this historic chapter with Pingtung County, Taiwan."
Together, we are fostering innovation, strengthening international ties, and creating pathways for collaboration that extend far beyond our borders.
