Broward Cultural Divisionโs Public Art and Design team celebrated the official unveiling of Flora and Fauna, a stunning new permanent public artwork at the expanded Broward County Convention Center.
Created by internationally recognized artist Martin Donlin, with an original inlaid poem by Broward-based Allied Artist Darius V. Daughtry, this monumental terrazzo installation draws inspiration from South Floridaโs natural landscapeโcapturing the movement of water, marine life, and the spirit of our natural environment.
This project represents the power of public art to transform spaces into meaningful, immersive experiencesโwelcoming millions of visitors with a sense of place, creativity, and connection.
A special thank you to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, County Administration, Visit Lauderdale, and the many departments, partners, and project team members who brought this vision to life. We are especially grateful to the Public Works & Environmental Services team, the Convention Center team, and Creative Terrazzo Systems for their craftsmanship and collaboration.
As we celebrate 50 years of arts and culture in Broward County, this installation stands as a lasting reflection of our community, environment, and shared story.

Thinking about ? Letโs take it outside ๐๐ฟ
Some of the best art in Broward doesnโt just sit in nature, itโs part of it. Inspired by the Everglades and local waterways, these Public Art & Design installations bring that connection to life:
๐๐ด๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฏ by Lorna Jordan at Long Key Natural Area is one you walk through, where winding paths, water, and native elements slowly bring the Everglades back into focus
๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ณ๐ญ๐ด ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ธ๐ช๐ณ๐ญ๐ด ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ข ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ต๐ฆ๐น ๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐๐ข๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ by Alice Aycock at Central Broward Regional Park captures the movement of wind and water, turning those natural forces into something you can see and feel
๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ณ๐ข ๐๐ถ๐จ๐ช๐ต by Mags Harries and Lajos Hรฉder at Miramar Regional Park blends marshland and design into a space that makes you slow down and take it all in
Broward County Parks are a pretty great place to spend Earth Day, if you ask us. Which artwork is your fave: 1, 2, or 3? ๐
