Please help us wish volunteer Cannon the best of luck in his next big adventure. Cannon has been volunteering at the museum since September and brought a wealth of knowledge in aviation. His experience at the museum inspired him to change majors to Museum Science which will require him to transfer schools. Cannon has been a great addition to the team and will be greatly missed. Good luck on all your future endeavors!

ITEM OF THE WEEK | In honor of the Artemis II mission’s return to Earth occurring later today, we want to highlight an item that is connected to the space race of the 1960s. These metal plaques and patch came from the USS Lake Champlain (CV-39). The Lake Champlain was used to recover Alan Shepard after the first human spaceflight. The Lake Champlain was also used to recover the Gemini 2 and Gemini 5 spacecrafts.
