The Training Guy, and the Supervisory HRO, Carolyn Creevy just returned from attending the PT230 Fundamentals of Supervision course at FSI. The training was superb and Ron and Carolyn will be instructing this course in Tegucigalpa in May and Fort Lauderdale in June. This course serves as an introduction to the complexities of supervision as Entry Level Officers begin developing the skills necessary to become an effective manager.
The Training Guy and the Supervisory Regional HRO are at FSI this week as students. They are taking the PT230 Fundamentals to Supervision course with the ultimate intent to gain adjunct faculty status so that they can teach the course in the WHA region. The intent behind the course is to help prepare those Entry Level Officers in executing their supervisory responsibilities at post. This course is designed to complement the officer’s PK245 Basic Leadership Course and will not replace PK245. FRC will deliver its first offering to a group of officers in Honduras in May and then again this summer at the FRC. The FRC offering is for all ELOs in the WHA region. Sorry, FSNs cannot attend this course.
FSI has sent out a training needs assesment for FY14. Hope everyone gets their info sent in so we can provide you with the training you need next year!

PK247 Contact Database User Training in Quito was a big hit last week! Ten students learned how to correctly use the database to fully utilize its design to their advantage! In addition to so much learning, a lot of fun was had!
The Adjunct Faculty Trainer from Quito did an outstanding job. In the beginning, she was a little concerned about being a trainer. The participants told her that she exceeded their expectations of the course and met all of their individual expectations, too! The Trainer told the Training Guy, “I’ve been bitten by the training bug – I like it!”
