It's an honor to partner with Florida Ocean Alliance and other stakeholders as we advance initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including our Shore Power Project which would be equivalent to taking about 2,500 cars off the road each year.
This we're highlighting some of the key insights from our most recent online event, our Ocean Leadership Webinar. Click the link below to watch the webinar and find out more about how FOA member organizations like the Environmental Defense Fund are conducting key research on climate friendly technologies like shore power and port equipment electrification.
According to a recent study conducted by EDF, there is a strong economic case for Florida's ports to go electric, and they are doing just that with major ports including Pensacola, Port Everglades, and PortMiami, leading the way. This cleaner technology has the power to significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality.

Today’s big news is even bigger. By our traditional measures that include cruise and cargo, Port Everglades grew by 16.3% this past year. That’s good news, but we are breaking tradition and adding our energy sector into the economic model just like other ports that receive petroleum products. So take note . . . Port Everglades is generating more economic activity than ever at $48.3 billion while supporting nearly 300,000 jobs throughout Florida. Thank you to our customers, staff and stakeholders who make this happen. https://bit.ly/4uTa1kT
