From preparing Broward for hurricane season and future flooding challenges to expanding affordable housing opportunities, supporting our libraries, recognizing dedicated Animal Care volunteers, planning the future of transportation, and showcasing Broward County to the world through IPW 2026, June was filled with progress across Broward and in District 6!
Read the June edition of In the Loop from Broward Commissioner Beam Furr.
I’m also excited about the momentum behind environmental initiatives, resilience planning, tourism, education, and quality-of-life projects that continue to strengthen our neighborhoods and improve services for residents.
Take a look at this month’s newsletter for a closer look at what’s happening across District 6 and Broward County.

⚓ WHAT A TURNOUT!
More than 2,100 people attended today’s Port Everglades Career & Job Fair, meeting with maritime and port-related vendors and employers from across South Florida.
🌠Applicants explored careers in logistics, shipping, operations, security, hospitality, transportation, skilled trades and more — all tied to the powerful economic engine that is Port Everglades.
Broward County Commissioners Alexandra P. Davis and Lamar Fisher greeted those looking for work and the many vendors who were looking to hire qualified candidates for a variety of maritime related industry jobs.
Thank you to every employer, vendor, applicant and community partner who made this event such a tremendous success.
⛴️🛟Opportunity is here in Broward County.
Good luck to everyone looking to work in Broward!
