While performing a bridge assessment on C.R. 393 in Okaloosa County for flooding of the Shoal River, the FDOT Southeast Florida drone team was made aware of the baby deer stranded in the middle of the flood water.

The team called our partners at Florida Fish and Wildlife who dispatched an officer to the bridge. The officer was able to traverse the high water and get the deer to swim to safety on the adjacent upland area.

FDOT will continue to assist our statewide partners in hurricane response and relief efforts.

Progress is taking shape in Palm Beach County! 🚧

Crews have completed the foundation work on the new southbound U.S. 27/S.R. 25 bridge. Once finished, two new bridges will carry traffic over the South Florida Water Management District canal.

Today, I was proud to announce that the new I-95 interchange at Oslo Road in Indian River County has been completed a year ahead of schedule. This is the first new interchange built in this area in nearly 50 years.

This new interchange is an investment in congestion relief and public safety. Oslo Road commuters will see their drive times cut in half, and emergency response times along I-95 will be reduced by up to 56 percent.

As part of this project, Official FDOT Instagram acquired right of way near the interchange to create a dedicated gopher tortoise relocation habitat for Southeast Florida.

Crews recently installed cantilever signs along northbound and southbound I-95 near the new S.R. 606/Oslo Road interchange ramps at mile marker 143 in Indian River County.
These signs will remain covered until project completion. Once the interchange opens to motorists, the new signs will provide clear, visible guidance to help drivers safely navigate the interchange.
