Through calm communication, teamwork, sound tactical decision-making, and a commitment to preserving life, these officers successfully prevented a tragedy and safely took the individual into custody. After 31 years of dedicated service to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Detective White is officially retiring from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Throughout his distinguished career, Detective White served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Special Problems Unit Detective, and Training Instructor, where he spent the last 15 years helping shape and mentor the next generation of officers.
His commitment to this profession and to our community earned him numerous commendations and awards, including a Lifesaving Award, Professional Service Award, Chief’s Citations, and countless public and departmental commendations.
Thank you, Detective White, for your unwavering dedication, leadership, and service to the residents of Fort Lauderdale. Your impact on this department will not be forgotten. Wishing you a well-deserved retirement and the very best in this next chapter.
