The Fort Lupton Police Department would like to thank the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District for inviting us last week to participate in the live-fire training. Opportunities like this are a great reminder of how important our partnership and collaboration are. Training together helps us better understand each other's roles, strengthen communication, and ultimately makes both our departments better prepared to serve our community.

We truly appreciate the invitation and look forward to our continued partnership and training/working together.

CO 52 Resurfacing between I-25 & US 85 Construction Update
From Sunday, Sept. 27 to Thursday, Oct. 1, Highway 52 will be closed from 7 pm to 6 am while crews finish bridge repairs just east of WCR 19.
Local access to properties between WCR 19 and WCR 21 will be maintained from the east side of the closure. A signed detour for through traffic on CO 52 will direct motorists to use I-25 on the west and US Highway 85 on the east to either CO 7 or CO 66 to bypass the closure.
All construction activities are weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 29 to mid-October, the southbound US 85 off-ramp to CO 52 will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 10 pm to 6 am. Crews will repair the CO 52 bridge over the South Platte River immediately west of the interchange. Due to the narrow work zone and the equipment needed to perform the work, a full ramp safety closure is necessary.
The signed detour route will direct southbound US 85 traffic to continue south to CO 7 to bypass the closure.
Starting Thursday, Sept. 24 through Friday, Oct. 2, crews will periodically close the US 85 ramps at CO 52 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for asphalt milling and paving. This mobile operation will occur Sunday through Thursday nights and will not impact all the ramps at the same time. Please follow signed detours and use extra caution.
Drivers should expect possible delays Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 pm to 6 am on CO 52 from Colorado Boulevard to US 85. Paving operations require single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers. Uniformed traffic control officers or flaggers may briefly stop traffic at driveways and side streets to allow construction equipment to pass.
Drivers should expect rough road conditions and uneven pavement in active work zones. Please use extra caution, follow posted speed limits, and watch for changing traffic patterns. A vehicle width restriction of 10 feet is in place from I-25 to US 85.
To stay connected visit codot.gov/projects/co52weldresurfacing or text colo52 to 866-762-3640 to receive project construction updates and traffic alerts by text.

Officers were in the area of 6th and Main Street when they observed a male subject who had one felony and five misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. When officers tried to initiate contact, the male subject fled on foot, leading officers on a foot pursuit. The subject was caught and placed into custody without further incident. Along with the warrants, the male was charged with Obstruction and Resisting Arrest.

Under Colorado law, the arrest and filing of criminal charges are merely formal accusations that an individual committed a crime. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
