💧 Hydrant Testing Today in Lakeside Park 💧

Today, crews from the Fort Mitchell Fire Department will be conducting annual fire hydrant testing throughout the City of Lakeside Park.

Hydrant testing is an important part of ensuring the fire protection system is ready when it's needed most. During testing, residents may notice fire hydrants flowing water and may experience temporary discoloration of their tap water. While the water remains safe to use, if you notice discoloration, simply run your cold water for several minutes until it clears.

Please use caution if you encounter firefighters working in or near the roadway, and give them plenty of room to work safely.

National Police Week gives us an opportunity to publicly recognize the brave men and women of law enforcement, but our appreciation for them goes far beyond just one week each year.

As firefighters, we stand beside our law enforcement brothers and sisters every day. We witness firsthand their dedication, sacrifice, courage, and commitment to protecting our communities — often under the most difficult circumstances.

This week, we especially honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and remember the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward. Their service will never be forgotten.

To every officer serving today, or those who have ever served: thank you for your partnership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the people you serve. We appreciate and recognize you not just this week, but every single day of the year.

From all of us at the Fort Mitchell Fire Department, thank you for all that you do. 🇺🇸🚓🚒
