Lee Health Military Support Program Serving over local veterans, currently deployed servicemen and servicewomen and their local families since May 2003.

Over 175,000 pounds of care boxes have been sent. Since 2003, more than 1800+ local troops and families have been supported.

Cooking dinner at Ronald McDonald House is a lot of fun! They are always looking for small groups (3-5 people) to sign up and bring uncooked food to prepare for the families. We will know in advance how many families are currently staying at the house, which can range from 3 to 10 families.

Participants bring groceries and prepare the food, and we typically spend about 2 to 2.5 hours there. Before leaving, we clean the kitchen and the dishes we used, ensuring everything is tidy for the families to enjoy their meals. I have attached the link as there are other activities you can participate in to support The House.

Today is National Buffalo Soldiers Day. This day honors the first peacetime, all-Black regular Army regiments formed by Congress on July 28, 1866. Their historic service and sacrifice established the first regular peacetime all-Black regiments in the U.S. Army. They were designated by Congress in 1992 to mark the 1866 formation of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments
