October is National Animal Safety Month, a great time to make sure your four-legged family members are healthy, happy and protected.

One of the best ways to keep your pet healthy is with regular veterinary check-ups. Routine visits can help catch potential health concerns early, while keeping your pet’s vaccinations up to date helps protect them from preventable diseases.

A little prevention goes a long way when it comes to keeping our pets safe and healthy. Make time this month to check in on your pet’s health and make sure they’re up to date on their care.

And don't forget to register your pet with St. Lucie County's Animal Safety Division. Learn more at https://ow.ly/aMgC50ZVTBe

Additional Rainfall and Localized Flooding Possible Into This Weekend.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne is forecasting additional rainfall across the Treasure Coast this weekend, with the potential for locally heavy rainfall and localized flooding, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Sign up for emergency alerts at Www.StLucieCo.Gov/Alert

Properly filled and placed sandbags are a simple way to reduce flood damage. They do not guarantee a water-tight seal and should not be relied on as the only solution to keep water outside of a building.

Residents should continue monitoring weather conditions and take precautions to protect their property.

Students learned why water conservation matters, discovered just how limited our freshwater supply is compared to the vast amount of water on Earth and pledged to turn off the water faucet when brushing their teeth.
