🔥🚒 CHIMNEY SAFETY REMINDER 🚒🔥

As the weather gets colder, keep your home and family safe:

✅ Have your chimney inspected and cleaned annually
✅ Burn only dry, seasoned firewood
✅ Keep combustibles at least 36" away
✅ Dispose of ashes in a covered metal container
✅ Check your smoke & CO alarms monthly
✅ Have a fire extinguisher readily available

If you suspect a chimney fire, get outside and call 9-1-1.

🚒 Stay warm. Stay safe. Stay fire smart!

Well… the Chief did it. 😆

He accidentally ordered 400 chickens for this Friday’s Chicken BBQ instead of 300. His mistake is your dinner!

Help us make sure every one of those chickens finds a good home. Stop by Friday, grab a delicious BBQ chicken dinner, and support your Town of Mohawk Fire District.

Draft training with Ladder 1 on the Mohawk last night. Training is essential!

Here are some photos of RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) training with our partners at the St.Johnsville Fire Dept. this past Tuesday night. The training also included the Denver Drill which simulates removing a downed firefighter from a confined area with limited access, requiring coordinated movements, problem-solving, and absolute trust in our crew.

Training is so very important, we are thankful for our volunteers.
