🌟 WE ARE BJACH: C4 IN ACTION 🌟
“What is best for the patient?”
For Janelle Capitano, Licensed Practical Nurse in the Family Medicine Procedure Clinic at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, that simple question guides everything she does.
Born in Baton Rouge and raised in West Baton Rouge Parish, Janelle came to Fort Polk in 2010 as an Army spouse. Six years later, she joined Team BJACH as a pediatric nurse.
In 2020, she transitioned to the Family Medicine Procedure Clinic, where she now serves as a nurse and scheduler, helping patients navigate their health care needs.
As a military spouse and mother whose children receive care through the military health system, Janelle understands firsthand the challenges military Families sometimes face.
Whether she’s helping patients experiencing chronic or acute pain, coordinating procedures or assisting someone with a skin condition affecting their confidence, Janelle approaches her work with compassion and a commitment to doing what’s right for her patients.
💬 “In all things, I just want to take care of my patients. I ask myself or team members, what is best for the patient?”
One of Janelle’s favorite days of the year is Retiree Appreciation Day, when she helps provide immunizations to military retirees and their Families.
And when she’s not juggling the many responsibilities of her clinic, you might find her reading true crime, enjoying a good book or cheering on the high school wrestling team her husband coaches — where she’s become the unofficial team mascot!
Janelle says coffee helps get her through busy days, but it’s the friendships and support of her BJACH teammates that mean the most.
After 10 years at BJACH, she continues to demonstrate what our C4 Vision looks like in action.
Thank you, Janelle, for your dedication to our patients, your teammates and the military community!
