Strengthening the Healthcare Network for Veterans & Warfighters
FORT RILEY, Kansas (Oct. 16, 2026) – Caring for local veterans at Irwin Army Community Hospital is linked to the clinical readiness of our deployable medical force. When IACH partners with the Department of Veterans Affairs, it facilitates local veterans with specialty care closer to home, while exposing Army medical practitioners to the complex, diverse caseloads they need to maintain and sharpen their lifesaving skills for the battlefield.
Discussing this strategic integration in front of the 1st Infantry Division crest on Oct. 16, 2026, are (from left): IACH Commander COL Jason K. Marquart; Kevin Miller, Director, Veteran Affairs Health Legislative Affairs; Kelsey Baron, Senior Adviser for Benefits and Defense Policy; Samantha Gonzalez, Deputy Staff Director for the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee; IACH Command Sergeant Major Masasinge B. Hadley; and Retired Brigadier General Bill Turner, Executive Director for the Kansas Office of Veterans Services.
