Meet Jason!

If you’ve been around GetREAL for a few years, you may recognize him.

Jason joined GetREAL when he turned 18. Not long after moving in, he was reunited with his brother, Zach, after the two had been separated in foster care and spent more than 10 years growing up apart. The first time they saw each other again was right here in the GetREAL dorms.

Over the past three years, Jason has worked incredibly hard to build a strong foundation for his future. He has maintained full-time employment, purchased his first vehicle, built significant savings, and taken on more independence and responsibility along the way.

Next week, Jason turns 21 and officially “ages out” of foster care and will successfully graduate from the GetREAL program. But aging out of foster care does not mean aging out of the relationships, encouragement, and community he has built here.

Jason has worked hard to reach this next chapter, and we are incredibly proud to continue standing beside him as he takes it on!

Happy early birthday, Jason! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what you do next. 💛
