The disaster declaration process can be confusing, but my office is here to help Northwest Florida every step of the way.

I’ve urged to approve Florida’s disaster declaration request, and we’re working to help our communities access the federal assistance they need to recover.

When disaster strikes, families shouldn’t get hit twice! Tax relief is available. Here’s what you need to know:

🚨Deduct qualifying disaster losses over $500.

🚨Claim eligible losses even if you take the standard deduction.

🚨Hurricane Isaias losses may qualify through December 31, 2026.

If you suffered losses, this law could help you keep more of your hard earned money as you rebuild.

Thank you, Governor Ron DeSantis, for requesting a major disaster declaration for Northwest Florida. Our communities have a long road to recovery after Hurricane Isaias, and this is an important step toward getting families and businesses the help they need. I’m grateful for the continued coordination with Secretary Perdue, Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida State Emergency Response Team and Secretary Kelly as we work to get Northwest Florida back on its feet.
