The mission of Shoshone Utilities Organization is to provide safe and reliable drinking water to the residents of the Fort Washakie and Boulder Flats areas. SUO strives to achieve this goal by the most efficient and cost effective means available. SUO treats surface water from the South Fork of the little Wind River and several ground water wells to meet water quality standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). SUO also manages domestic and commercial wastewater under the guidelines of the EPA. SUO is dedicated to providing propane and propane service to the residents of the Wind River Reservation at affordable rates and in a timely manner. SUO operates the public drinking water treatment and distribution and sewage collection systems along with potable water delivery to rural cisterns and a bulk propane business.

Shoshone Utility wants to let the community know that we are experiencing a main waterline rupture on Ethete Road between the school and the hot springs.
Customers north of Ethete Rd will be without water through Sunday afternoon.
We have an excavator that will be at the site for repairs on Sunday morning.
Service should be restored no later than Sunday evening.
We appreciate your understanding.

ALL tribal offices will be closed tomorrow including SUO out of respect for the late Belverda Snyder.
If you have a payment, please use the drop box include name, physical address and if its for water or propane.

ATTENTION WATER CUSTOMERS (not cistern):

SHUT OFF NOTICES were mailed out last week, if you have received one Please come to the office to set up a payment agreement, or to renew it.
Customers need to do so before May 26th or your service will be shut off and a reconnect fee will be applied.

Thursday 04/23/2026 our office will be closing at 12 p.m
Friday 04/24/2026 office will be closed all day.
WATER & Propane deliveries will be delivered as scheduled on those days.
Please leave any payments in the drop box.
You can eave a message with your name, number, and a brief message, a staff member will get back to you as soon as they can.
