The Good Book Company US just released a discipleship course for teens called Life with Jesus: Youth Edition. This workbook was written by Tim Chester and Katy Morgan for ages 11 and up. They understand that many youth are looking to "live life to the full in one way or another," and their desire was to show that Jesus came to give us life to the full. This is a great hook to engage the minds of postmodern teens and to share how they can find purpose, wisdom, and hope in Jesus!

At first glance, it may seem obvious that being a girl is a good thing. But if girls are struggling with the cultural expectations around them — then going to Scripture to see what it means to be a girl is a great thing! Through the fun poetic rhyme in It’s Good to Be a Girl, the Oshmans share that girls are a good part of God’s plan, and they counter unbiblical gender ideologies coming from both the secular AND Christian cultures.

I also love how they show examples of women being used by God from the Old Testament, New Testament, and throughout church history!

Rebecca McLaughlin has written another gentle yet insightful and truth-filled book addressing one of the most controversial topics within our culture at the moment.

"Does the Bible Affirm Same-Sex Relationships" addresses ten claims people make to show how the Bible affirms same-sex relationships. McLaughlin’s discernment and analysis of these arguments are both helpful and encouraging.

This book is not meant to condemn but to point to Christ in whom all sinners–that is, everyone–can find eternal life.

Laura Wifler's new picture book, A World Wonder, is delightfully told and illustrated with a touch of nostalgia. Underneath the story of Cora is the theme of imago dei—how people are more valuable than anything in one's life. Readers are reminded that it isn't our career or what we have that is important, but our friendships and relationships. It is people who are truly world wonders.

For centuries, allegories or fairy tales of knights and dragons have reminded us of God's great love for his people. While picture books like "St. George and the Dragon" contain symbolism and gospel glimpses, in "The King and the Dragon", James W. Shrimpton has retold the redemption story of the Bible through a rhyming allegorical tale bursting with theological truth.

Why is it so important to teach our kids what the Bible says about sexuality and marriage?

“From God’s perspective, marriage isn’t just a formal arrangement or the foundation of a family or even a safe place for sexual expression. It’s not simply a means to my personal fulfillment and happiness. Marriage is a story. It’s a piece of art. It’s a lived experience that’s meant to point to something outside ourselves, something far better. It’s painting a picture of humanity’s relationship with God. When it’s wrongly used, then, it distorts this picture. It gives us wrong ideas about God, ourselves, and the story he’s writing.”

In More to the Story, Jennifer M. Kvamme responds to questions many teens have today about attraction, gender identity, and relationships. So often, we are given “Christian” responses that only seem to address the fruit, but Jennifer takes the time to come alongside teens and engage with their deep questions. Her desire is for them to see God’s grace and the love Jesus has for them.

She doesn’t just communicate them through a bunch of rules. She tells a story. "A story about God’s design, Jesus’ love, and how life works best.”

Kristen Wetherell recently released two new fantastic board books in her For the Bible Tells Me So series from Crossway.

Wetherell communicates rich and beautiful truths clearly without being dull, oversimplified, or lacking. If you could only get one series of board books for your church library or family, these are the ones I’d recommend!
