🦺Get a Free Life Vest Today to Help Prevent Drownings in Texas!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more children aged 1-4 perish from drowning than from any other cause, making it the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children aged 5-14. Partnering with Cook Children's, the Watauga Fire Department is giving away complimentary life vests for kids from infants to teenagers.
You can pick up the life vest at the Watauga fire station located at 5909 Hightower Dr. from Monday to Saturday between 9 AM and 4 PM. Remember, children (from infants to teenagers) receiving the life jackets must be accompanied by an adult and fitted with the correct vest size.
