A slow moving upper low will spread out of northern Mexico late in the week and over the weekend and will help keep rain chances in the forecast through the weekend. While the severe threat appears to be low, there will be a threat for some heavy rainfall at times. Anyone with outdoor plans this weekend needs to remain weather aware!

06/02/2026

Isolated to scattered storms are expected mainly west of I-35 Wednesday afternoon through the overnight hours. Stronger storms will be capable of strong winds and brief heavy downpours. The overall storm motion will likely be west to east.

06/02/2026

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will continue this afternoon and evening with better coverage and chances for storms across mainly Central and East Texas. Lightning will be a threat with all storms, but some storms will be strong producing downburst winds and heavy rainfall. Outside of the storms, heat index values will pass 100 degrees in areas along and east of I-35.

06/02/2026

After a few days of hot and dry weather, a weak cold front will help trigger scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across North and Central TX. A few of these storms could be strong with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Coverage of storms is about 20-30% across the region.

06/01/2026

A more unsettled weather pattern returns to the region for the latter part of the week into the weekend. Scattered thunderstorms are expected daily during the afternoon and evening hours, becoming more isolated as they diminish in coverage and strength into the overnight. While this activity is expected to be non-severe, a few storms with gusty winds, small hail, and/or frequent lightning cannot be ruled out. On the plus side, temperatures will be near to even slightly below average with highs in the upper-80s for most.

06/01/2026

Isolated to scattered showers and storms return to the region mainly Tuesday afternoon through the overnight hours. By Wednesday, rain chances shift to generally along and west of the I-35 corridor. The severe threat both Tuesday and Wednesday is very low, though a few strong storms will be possible during the afternoon and evening hours. The strongest storms each day will bring the potential for gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning. Above normal temperatures will continue with heat index values near 100 degrees on Tuesday.

06/01/2026

Today will be the last hot and dry day before we see a change in our weather pattern over the course of this week. Highs will be near to slightly above average in the low and mid-90s. Tonight will be another tranquil night with relatively clear skies and lows in the 70s.

06/01/2026

As temperatures moderate throughout the week, storm chances are also expected to return to the region. Tuesday will still be hot with highs in the low to mid-90s with the potential for isolated thunderstorms (generally along and east of the I-35 corridor). Overnight into Tuesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible across all of North and Central Texas. By Wednesday, rain chances shift to be generally along and west of the I-35 corridor. The severe threat both Tuesday and Wednesday is very low, though few strong storms will be possible during the afternoon and evening hours. The strongest storms each day will bring the potential for gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.
