Visiting my roots raises questions amongst my family & friends and is a strong reminder that my creative struggles in Texas are certainly by choice-a mission based journey that seems to be admired by some and seemingly coveted by others with no roots or connection to the dynamics of such struggles. Nonetheless, their empathy is inspired by Allah (SWT) and empathizers are rightfully aligned with certain demographics of people when they support their internal leadership, promote their internal empowerment by effectively positioning affected persons at the helm and adopt their internal strategies. In this case, this is what is meant by: “Power to the People” Anything short of this can sublimely-unconsciously be a form of colonialism

I think we all exhibit a level of egotism-rightfully so we all should value our righteous intentions, interests, achievements, and aspirations. However, when Allah permits someone to be out front or first in something, it behooves us to be humble and act in the greater good of His Cause!!!

As Salaamu Alaikum! Again, I )Huma-Faith) don't make appeals for individuals but rather facilitate project & programs but an URGENT MATTER comes to me, We have a Muslimah with 3-daughters (12, 10, & 9) on the streets tonight (in their car) who fled from a DV situation needing immediate relief (motel). She has an appointment tomorrow with Workforce & Housing. Once indoors, I'll provide some food. I have both her Zelle & Cashapp info. Though I'd rather see any help sent to her directly, my org (Huma-Faith) can accept donations on here behalf if you rather be anonymous or would like a Tax Deduction. I've put out a way to donate towards Coffee, Gatorade, & Donuts for our 2nd Annual Prison Dawah Retreat at the Bridgeport Correctional Center Jan. 17-18, 2025, where we will serve 25 Muslim Inmates and have the attention of an additional 65 inmates interested in learning more about Islam! As Salaamu Alaikum! My prayer & hope for 2025 is that we find humility in our collective efforts to serve humanity: not excluding any specific humans but willing to serve all vulnerable populations! Sometimes the service is charitable at other times it’s standing for justice! I pray we recognize the worth and efficacy of all who possess talent, knowledge, and leadership in different spheres/sectors among different populations, cultures, races, & ethnicities with their peculiar issues & problems knowing that most of these are either inherited or systemically designed by their oppressors! May we realize that each effort & cause not only need support but are entitled to equitable distribution of mercy, compassion, & resources! O’ Muslims, it grieves me a lot that the services of Huma-Faith has diminished regarding housing due to not being able to garner support of the community, yet we still get calls, texts, & emails every week for this purpose. Though our hearts go out to all, it’s especially difficult to learn of Sisters with housing instability or homelessness and our community has no remedy for them. For over a decade, I facilitated this through Huma-Faith from resources outside of the Muslim Community but in the last couple of years I’ve not been able to take this to task alone as I’ve been forced to tie my camel for my family’s sake. There can be no favorable response to these cases without COMMUNITY SUPPORT!!! With COMMUNITY SUPPORT, I will gladly pick up where we left off; Allahu Alim!
