Thank you to everyone who came out to the annual Summer Reading Kickoff on Saturday! 🎉 From a special recognition ceremony for this year's Spring Bookmark Contest winners with Carlos Flores Fort Worth City Council District 2 to Sensory Story Time for the little ones to 388 Summer Reading Challenge signups, this year's event was a blast!

We also want to give a special shout out to all of our vendors, who provided fun activities, music, food and community resources.

This certificate is just a bit larger than a playing card, and four times as thick, with decorative cut edges and corners. In 1887, public schools only educated students through grade 11, so Susie Gambrell’s certificate of promotion tells us she was about to be a senior!

Did someone say free concert?! 👀 Join us this Saturday at 1 p.m. during the Summer Reading Kickoff for a special performance from Trevor Douglas.

TRVR? grew up in Fort Worth and, after competing in American Idol, spent a couple years back and forth between Hollywood perfecting his craft. Taking musical inspiration from classic folk artists like John Denver and Bob Dylan, he's opened for the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Ringo Starr and Jason Derulo.
