Ken Paxton admits to not being in control of his campaign. He's obviously a puppet for Trump, the Republican leadership in Congress, and big money special interests. I don't take orders from anyone. If Texans want a truly independent Senator, they should check out my campaign.

🚨 DFW, WE NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK! 🚨

Arlington City Council did not include Flock cameras on next Tuesday's agenda, but we're hearing that the Tarrant County Commissioners Court may be taking up the issue!

The fight against mass surveillance is growing across North Texas, and DeFlock DFW needs your help!

Whether you can volunteer at a polling location, collect petition signatures, print petitions, provide a table, recruit other volunteers, or simply deliver bottled water to those on the ground, every contribution makes a difference.

✊ Ready to help defend our Fourth Amendment rights?

Fill out our volunteer form and let us know where, when, and how you can contribute:

📍 We're especially looking for volunteers in:

Arlington, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Frisco, Alvarado, Burleson, Crowley, Cleburne, Joshua, Keene, Waxahachie, Bedford, North Richland Hills, and surrounding communities.

Not in DFW? No problem! This effort is open to volunteers across Texas. We'll do our best to connect you with local efforts in your area.

Mass surveillance doesn't stop at city limits, and neither should the movement to end it.

Your privacy. Your community. Your voice.

“I’m a libertarian,” Dixon said. “I’m offering a choice that is libertarian that says to every Texas voter, you own yourself. You get to do anything you want as long as you’re not harming someone else.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Libertarian Party of Tarrant County: Public Comment Is Where the First Amendment Lives

FORT WORTH, TX — Free speech is the freedom that makes self-government possible. It is how the people tell their officials the truth, especially the truths those officials would rather not hear. The public comment period at a county meeting is that freedom at its most direct: a resident walks to a microphone, faces an elected leader, and says her piece.

Four Tarrant County residents have now gone to federal court because the county has taken that freedom from them. Reed Bilz, Katherine Godby, Liz Miller, and Karla Palomares are not rabble-rousers. They are the neighbors who show up month after month, wait through hours of agenda items, and ask for one minute at the podium. What they have learned is that the minute comes with a cost.

Bilz, who is in her nineties, now writes out her remarks and crosses off any word she fears might set County Judge Tim O'Hare off. She has struck "racist" and "bigot" from her own pages. She once softened a line that said the judge "pretended to be outraged" to read "exhibited outrage," because she was afraid the honest version would get her removed. Godby rehearses her comments aloud with her husband to be sure she never runs a second long. Miller, who often holds a view the rest of the room does not, keeps it to herself rather than risk being thrown out. Palomares drops points she believes matter because she cannot guess what the judge will allow.

This is what censorship actually looks like. Not only the people hauled out by deputies, though there have been plenty of those. It is the citizen editing her own conscience before she ever reaches the microphone, because she has seen what happens to those who speak plainly.

The First Amendment was never written to protect comfortable speech. It protects the sharp word and the criticism an official would rather not hear. A policy that lets one man decide, on the spot, which grievances his constituents may voice is not decorum. It is the opposite of the accountability the Constitution was built to secure.

The Libertarian Party of Tarrant County stands with these four residents. They are asking for nothing more than the first freedom this country ever promised them, and we will follow this case until they win it.

Sean Sparkman, Chair
Libertarian Party of Tarrant County

The decorum policy gives O’Hare the ability to eject commissioners court attendees from the meeting base on their language or actions.

Apparently, a clarification is necessary regarding DeFlock DFW’s position on vandalism. So we're going to make this painfully, exhaustively, unmistakably clear.

DeFlock DFW does not support violence or vandalism.

We do not support cutting down cameras.

We do not support smashing cameras.

We do not support shooting cameras.

We do not support painting cameras.

We do not support training beavers to chew through camera poles.

We do not support deploying woodpeckers against sensitive electronic components.

We do not support summoning lightning strikes.

We do not support casting spells, hexes, curses, enchantments, or other supernatural means intended to render an ALPR camera inoperable.

We do not support telekinesis.

We do not support asking aliens to abduct the cameras.

We do not support opening an interdimensional portal beneath a Flock camera and banishing it to another plane of existence.

We do not support attacking cameras with Sawzalls.

We do not support attacking cameras with angle grinders, axes, chainsaws, sledgehammers, cordless drills, hydraulic equipment, farm implements, or construction equipment.
We do not support removing cameras with trebuchets, catapults, battering rams, ballistae, or other medieval siege equipment.

And before somebody asks: no, jury nullification does not make any of the above legal.

We do not support setting cameras on fire.

We do not support stealing cameras.

We do not support running cameras over with your truck.

We do not support damaging government property.

We do not support damaging private property.

We do not support trespassing onto someone else's property to damage surveillance equipment.

We do not support violence against police officers, Flock employees, elected officials, people who disagree with us, or even people who agree with us but are exceptionally annoying about it.

We do not support threats, intimidation, destruction, sabotage, arson, assault, battery, mayhem, skulduggery, tomfoolery, shenanigans, or whatever other criminal offense someone might creatively infer from a Facebook comment.

Hopefully we've covered the important bases.

What DeFlock DFW supports is lawful civic action.

We support filing public-information requests.

We support examining contracts.

We support reviewing policies.

We support requesting audit records.

We support investigating how surveillance data is collected, retained, searched, and shared.

We support asking police departments difficult questions.

We support asking elected officials even more difficult questions.

We support showing up at City Council meetings.

We support speaking during public comment.

We support petitions.

We support peaceful demonstrations.

We support talking to journalists.

We support educating our neighbors.

We support legislation.

We support litigation.

We support elections.

We support persuading government officials to turn the cameras off.

And when they won't listen, we support persuading voters to replace them with government officials who will.

We also support humor, satire, memes, and jokes not relating to violence or destruction of property.

Apparently, that last one occasionally requires clarification.

If someone jokes that a few Sawzall blades cost $12 and we respond that there is also “that pesky court charge,” the intended message isn't particularly cryptic:

Don't vandalize cameras. You'll get arrested.

We would much rather see a Flock camera taken down because five councilmembers voted to remove it than because somebody with a Milwaukee Fuel made a series of extremely poor life choices at 2:00 in the morning.

The first creates political change.

The second creates a police report.

Our objective isn't to vandalize the surveillance state. Our objective is to dismantle it lawfully.

We want these systems removed through city councils, commissioners courts, legislatures, courts, elections, public pressure, and the withdrawal of consent by the governed.

And we're perfectly willing to do the tedious work necessary to accomplish that.

We will file records requests.

We will attend meetings.

We will organize residents.

We will investigate abuses.

We will challenge bad arguments.

We will advocate for legislation.

We will demand transparency.

We will make memes.

We will probably make more memes.

Some of those memes may require a functioning sense of humor.

But we aren't going to tell you to grab a Sawzall.

DeFlock DFW opposes violence and vandalism. Full stop.

If anyone remains uncertain whether DeFlock DFW endorses the criminal application of a particular household object, power tool, construction vehicle, woodland creature, medieval weapon, extraterrestrial technology, magical incantation, or supernatural phenomenon against an ALPR camera, please identify it in the comments and we will consider issuing a supplemental clarification.

Please allow 7–10 business days for spellcasting, beaver, and trebuchet-related inquiries.
