• Avoid fatty and spicy foods to help prevent heartburn.
• Get enough fiber and drink more water to avoid constipation and hemorrhoids.
• Drinking water also helps ease dry skin and stretch marks.
• Rest more with your feet up to assist with swelling, and lay on your left side to take pressure off your kidneys and veins.
• Stretch regularly to help avoid leg cramps.

Staying healthy during pregnancy means knowing what activities to adjust!

• Exposure to high heat in hot tubs and saunas, especially in the first trimester, can cause birth defects or even miscarriage.
• While most exercise is encouraged, starting new, high-intensity exercise programs while pregnant is not recommended.
• Later in pregnancy, most abdominal exercises should be avoided.
• High-risk activities like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, skiing, horseback riding, and contact sports should be avoided unless approved by your medical professional.
