It’s so easy to sign your kiddos up for the Pizza Hut Book It! Summer Reading Program! Reading a little each day is a great way to keep learning going all summer long, and this fun program gives students the chance to earn a free pizza while building strong reading habits. It’s a win-win for families looking to make reading part of their summer routine! 🍕📚☀️

Join us at the Capp Smith Park Amphitheater on Friday, June 5, at 8:45 PM for our next Movie in the Park: Lilo & Stitch! Please bring your blankets or chairs. While attendance is free, Watauga Active Adult Center members will sell concessions to fund their programming.

Help us give a big Friendship welcome to our newest Intervention Support Teacher (IST), Skyla Runnerstrom! 💙

Mrs. Runnerstrom brings 9 years of educational experience to our Friendship family, including time spent teaching both 2nd and 3rd grade. She has a passion for helping students grow and especially loves teaching reading (with math earning a special spot on her favorites list too!). 📚➕

Inspired by the teachers who made a difference in her own life, Skyla became an educator to pay it forward—helping students grow, gain confidence, and become the very best versions of themselves. She is excited to begin this new chapter supporting our Friendship learners as our newest IST! ❤️

Outside of school, Mrs. Runnerstrom enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, baking, and shopping. She is a proud graduate of Central High School where she was a Lightning Dancer and served as captain her senior year. ⚡💃

And her favorite role of all—being a mom to her incredible daughter, who will be starting kindergarten this fall at Friendship. She is truly her heart and world. 🥹💙

Congratulations to Friendship PTA on all their accomplishments this year! Keller Council of PTAs stopped by with this recognition this morning. The Golden Apple is a special recognition with 100% of our staff signed up as PTA members in the 25-26 school year! We look forward to sharing more of PTA’s accomplishments in the coming weeks.
