Nathan is one of the most honest man I know.

My opponent, Tom Wilder, a man with no known military service despite having been alive for U.S. conflicts spanning WW2-Iran, has been questioning my military record.

The exact comments made by Wilder at a True Texas Project (racist, right-wing extremist group) event were the following:

“My opponent has fuzzed his military record. He’s trying to say what a great warrior he was.”

I’ve never claimed to be a “great warrior,” although I was privileged to serve among many. What I do take great pride in was being a guy who, for seven years, woke up, put on his boots, and did his best to go where his country called him. I also tried to serve each mission with honor.

I keep my bad knees and some bad memories as a reminder of that service.

But because my opponent appears to need further proof, I’m releasing my DD-214 today. This is the discharge paperwork every Soldier receives upon leaving the Army. It encapsulates the Soldier’s entire service record. I’ve underlined some areas that I’ve mentioned on the campaign trail.

I’ll leave it to you to decide if what’s on there represents honorable service. Based on the discharge status and decorations, I believe my commanding officers and the U.S. Army thought so.

If you find this behavior by Tom Wilder unworthy of a public office holder, consider contributing to my campaign at
