We are back for What’s Happening Wednesday! 🐪 It’s been a little quiet this week, but we are back in the swing of things!

Big thank you to Mr. Graham, our Watch DOG for the day. We enjoyed having him on campus and can’t wait for the next Watch DOG to spend the day with us! 🐾

Another big thank you to The Charlie Brown Realty Group for providing lunch to our staff today. Mrs. Stobaugh won the Teacher Survival Kit drawing! 😀

Check out Pre-k playing outside at recess and enjoying the cooler temperature we’ve been having. ☀️

We ❤️ Mr. Gauntt!

We’re back from fall break, but our celebration of our principals never stopped!

Next up is Jeff Guantt, principal at Independence Elementary!

⏰ 29 years in education

✏️ What’s one thing you always keep in your office?
Candy for teachers!

❤️ What's your favorite IES tradition?
I love celebrating our teachers every month! We roll out our Staff Snack cart every month and spotlight our Teacher and Support Staff of the Month. It's a fun way to show our appreciation for all they do!

Our teachers worked hard earning merit badges the first nine weeks! They could earn badges for things like joining PTA, eating lunch with a new co-worker and other various culture building challenges. At the end of the 9 weeks, teachers had their name entered into a drawing for each badge they earned. Mrs. Young was our very first winner!! Thanks to Minky Couture for donating one of their super soft blankets for our first merit badge winner!

Lots happening on this What’s Happening Wednesday post! 🐪

Mrs. Stobaugh’s kindergarten class was going over their writing lesson. 📝

Last night was our Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported IES! 💙💛

Today was National Walk to School Day. It was nice to see everyone out this morning. 🛴🚲👟

Today is also College Colors Day. We love to see all the school spirit!

Yesterday and today, Reveal Martial Arts visited PE where our students participated in martial arts activities, lessons focused on discipline, respect, confidence, and had a great time! 🥋

In the library, Mrs. Sustaita read Creepy Carrots! to each class. Students then built fences to keep out their own creepy carrots. 🥕
